God will let us think we can do a better job than him. It's when we get jammed up that we realize that God knows best, after all. This is a continual lesson I'm learning everyday. What I may think is good for me may not be what God thinks is best for me.

I wonder how this young man is doing since this episode aired. This Judge Mathis episode was rough because this young man was born into tragedy: Sickle Cell Anemia, and a crappy uncle. The young man was trying to escape the ghetto, and the uncle could've cut him some slack. My FB friend Paulette Marie shed valuable light

"Unfortunately, the uncle’s behavior/demeanor is generational. I guarantee you, he was treated the same way. Not making excuses for him cause as an adult he should do better…just saying."

This the one. The uncle (if you can call him one) was mistreated as a child, so he's going to make his nephew feel the same way he did. I'm not condoning the uncle's behavior, but it's the truth. Hurt people, hurt people (even that statement is becoming tired because it sounds like excuses are being made for toxic behavior). Clips like this prove that family isn't always loving, and I'm understanding why some family members are estranged.

Fellas, Tighten Up

4 years later, and this message is still true. I guess that's why I don't hang around men like that because a lot of these jokers are seeped in foolishness.

 

Peace Of Mind: Put YOU First

 Thought For Today:

Many people talk a good game about wanting peace of mind, but very few back it up. What I mean is that many people are scared to X toxic people out of their lives because they think they're being selfish by actually putting THEIR desire for peace over overlooking someone's "flaws". I'm not afraid to X toxic folks out of my life, and I don't care who's slighted. I'm not trying to give some people repeated green lights to keep subtracting from my life. If that makes me selfish, I embrace that all the way. There's nothing wrong with putting yourself first.

False prophets aren't called by God, they call themselves. A lot of false prophets are ego-driven. A true prophet speaks what God puts on their heart. In my view, false prophets will only fool those who aren't wise. If you follow Christ, it'll be easy to discern between a false prophet & real prophet. False prophets have truth in what they're saying, but even then it takes wisdom to decide which is real & false.

3 Wise Women: When Should A Woman Pay?

Repost: Question 2: After what number of dates should a woman offer to pay for the date after she’s been out on a couple of dates with the same guy?

This question is symbolic of what goes on in relationships today. Some feel the man should continue paying, others feel she should kick in. Depending on who initiated the date, to me that’s who should foot the bill. My response:

This is the problem with relationships: One person does all the giving while the other takes, takes and takes. Relationships like that WILL NOT last because they are built on selfishness. Regardless of who initiated the date, to expect one person to put in all the work is ridiculous. The other person doing the receiving has nothing to bring to the table. If a man is dropping $200 or more for dates on a woman he's probably not feeling, he's not very intelligent because who's to say if you spend $$$ on a woman, she'll be interested in you. You don't know. Ladies and Gentlemen, don't allow your mate to drive you broke.

People Don’t Like Me Because I’m Anointed Or….

I wish we would stop the "people don't like you because you're anointed" preaching/conversations.  Truth is some people don't like you because you could be mean, self-centered,  controlling,  angry, bitter, arrogant, insecure, ignorant, irresponsible,  lack integrity, a liar, inconsistent, unreliable, etc. Also, they could not like you simply because your personality, not your anointing, is not likeable to them. This doesn't make you or them bad. Truth is, every human has a right not to like a person, and it does not mean they have a demon because they don't like you. 

For those of you who seem to be obsessed with those who do not like you, and you work overtime trying to get everyone to like you:  I encourage you to put that energy into those who do like you. More importantly let God's love and you liking you be what matters most. People are too fickle to build your life around them liking you or not. Now go in peace ✌️ ❤️ ! 

I felt this. I’m over people liking me because I feel if I haven’t mistreated them, they have a right to dislike me. It’s not making me lose sleep because it’s less drama for me. While it’s true that sometimes a person is disliked for their anointing, many times it’s for the reasons above. Either way, be ok with people not liking you. People are too fickle to bank your favor on.

Biological Father vs. Stepdad

Fathers who aren’t involved in their children’s lives can not dictate how their kids are raised, especially if another man steps in to raise YOUR children.

3 Prophetic insights for 2023 | Crypto is not enough

This is Prophet Tomi Arayomi, someone I follow on YouTube, and a lot of gems were dropped. Many of the gems dropped were telling people to get their finances together in case of an economic collapse. This ties into the Bible story about the 5 foolish and wise virgins: The 5 wise virgins made preparations so they stacked oil, the 5 foolish waited until the last minute to get ready, so they were caught slipping. Because the 5 foolish virgins were caught lacking, they depended on the wise to hook them up, but aht aht...the wise had to turn away the foolish virgins because the wise didn't have enough for themselves and the foolish virgins. That Biblical parable ties into today because prophet Arayomi is telling people to get their finances ready: pay off debt, invest, save, etc.

The next gem he dropped was getting rid of foolish friends. Friendship is fine, but if those friends are keeping you from your purpose, drop them. This really stood out to me: Don't make friends, choose friends. I've never heard friendship described like that before. For me, the only friend I have is Jesus, and I'm good with him being my solo friend. At this point in my life, I'm on a mission & I won't let anyone in who's bad for me; my purpose is too valuable for that. It annoys me when I let someone in & the energy isn't right. It's tough for me to consider someone a friend if I haven't invested time with them.

I pray this blog post & prophetic message reaches people, and causes them to get ready, but if not...all I can do is promote this prophecy. What people do is on them. I felt led to share this.

Suffering At The Hands Of Evil People

I put the disclaimer at the bottom because I know this subject is too real for some Christians. Why? Because most of them are used to powder puff preaching: Serving God is the best decision you'll make. For mature believers, yes because there's nothing like God having your back when you need him most. What about baby Christians, those starting out in the faith? I feel that mature Christians need to be real with rookie Christians about the faith walk, because a lot of babes in Christ come to Him under false pretenses that everything will be sweet once you give your heart to Christ. Aht aht...once you surrender to Christ, game on. You become a target for Satan, so he's going to throw every fiery dart at someone to deter him/her. You have to be built Ford tough to walk with Christ because we live in a fallen world, and part of living in a fallen world means battles choose you. I know most folks aren't used to that real talk, which is why many sinners choose to reject Christ; because for them, there's no benefit. If you go through more hell as a believer than not, then why should anyone choose to serve Christ? Remember, God reigns on the just & unjust, so that means trials will hit everyone, whether they're evil or good. Those who are anchored in Christ have a better shot of survival because they can lean on Him. 

Parenthood

#Fathers if you love your children,

#1 choose mentally stable women as their mothers…preferably, they should be your wife first

#2 stay in your child’s life to be the healthy balance and adult advocate if need be. 

(Moms, the same goes for you, but I’m referencing a trending video right now). 

That video going viral of a mother #bullying her daughter, recording it, then cutting her hair is straight up child abuse.

It’s something she’ll never be able to live down because it’s out there now. 

The mother is so short sighted, did she consider the impact of such video if they girl ever applied for a #scholarship, a #job, etc.

I truly hope loved ones have intervened to have the girl removed and the mom investigated. 

This is one time, I would have supported the daughter standing up to her mother 

(read between the lines to get what I’m really saying and multiple times to defend herself.)

Enough is enough.

If you can’t get through to your child, perhaps there’s an issue YOU need to work on as a parent.

She’s accusing her daughter of being obsessed with looks but is recording herself with a beauty filter on. My guess is, #jealousy of a younger, prettier version of herself was also a motivating factor. 

And of course, the mother was substantially bigger physically than her daughter.

Rarely, do you see a parent picking on a child their equal or bigger than them. 

Abusers are not stupid. They pick on who they think they can win a fight with. 

We often hear of parents keeping a child in their place, but parents need to be kept in their place as well. 

It’s time out for parents trying to humiliate their kids and then wonder why they grow up to have low self-esteem, harm themselves, bully other people, stay in abusive romantic relationships or have nothing to do with them etc.

You reap what you sow.

I use to judge people who stayed in abusive romantic relationships until I began going through the process of becoming a therapist and realized so much of why people stay is rooted in what they were taught about love growing up…

“You know I’m only bullying you, hitting you, screaming at you, cursing you out, etc.” because I love you right?”

The video is an example of why I’m not quick to sympathy for older adults who complain about their adult children not coming around, not bringing their children/the parent’s grandkids around. 

If an adult is otherwise stable in other areas of their life (a functioning, healthy, productive adult) and they are avoiding their parent, there’s a reason why the parent is not telling. 

It’s also why I advocate, the first thing to do if you’re escaping a #toxicfamily dynamic is get your #money together.

The #1 thing that keeps people tied to abusive situations (including toxic relatives), is needing the abuser financially. 

Adding on to what she said, men need to read #1 because it would save them a lot of baby mama drama. If a man doesn't see a woman as a future mother, he shouldn't lay down with her. Then again, most men think with their second head instead of the one attached to their shoulders.

Privacy Is Power

 

When no one knows your next move, they can't sabotage it. I'm learning this daily because I can't run the risk of attracting envy. People will go to great lengths to sabotage your success, so for me, the best course of action is to make moves in privacy. Remember, what people don't know, they can't ruin. Let people think you have nothing going for yourself, that's the key. When you make it big, the evidence speaks for itself. Folks shouldn't have anything to prove to anyone.

Pet Ownership vs. Raising Children

I feel pet owners when they mention taking care of a pet is like taking care of a child: You’re making sure your pet remains healthy by any means necessary, the same as a child. 

Stay In Your Lane

The average highway has 3-4 lanes in each direction, some have 5 if you include major cities, so why can't some people seem to stay in theirs? 

What Discernment Is NOT

 Some people give everything they have to accomplish what you take for granted. I call those folks spoiled, because they don’t understand there are those who would love to be in their position. Take someone who was born into adversity, and take someone who had a good start; who do you think appreciates success more? The person born into adversity because they fought for their success. They had to work twice as hard to get where they’re at.

Doing what’s best for you requires no explanation. If people want to call you selfish, let them. 9 out of 10 times, they would do what’s best for them.

I think many married couples want singles to experience the joys of marriage: Spending your life with someone who brings out the best in you, so I get why many people think marriage is everyone's end game, but...there are those who used to want marriage until they saw what their parents and other loved ones went through, and they were turned off by that. It takes maturity to deal with the rough times in marriage, and everyone's not cut out for that. Some people have no business being married, and that's fine. Everyone isn't cut out for married life because either they can't find the right person or they don't want the work that comes with making a marriage last; it's not my responsibility to judge. I used to want marriage, but my eyes were open to the reality and now...I'm fine with single life. I move how I want on my time & not someone else's, and I don't check with anyone before I make a decision. I've read many articles of spouses becoming disabled and the person they married ends up bouncing because it's too much work caring for a disabled spouse, but let people tell it...marriage is so great. Then there's the divorce rate: 50% of first marriages end in divorce (of that percentage, women initiate the majority of divorces), and that percentage increases with subsequent marriages. Some marriages are successful because the couple refuses to let anything destroy what God put together. Confession: It would take A LOT, and I mean A LOT for me to trade the single life for married life, because when you're married, you can't think of self, you have to consider the impact of your decisions on your family.

 PAY ATTENTION to the "friends and family" who don’t wish you a happy birthday, but when it's everyone else's, they write a book!! Pay attention to the "friends and family" who don't hype your selfie up when you post it, but hypes up everyone else's!! Pay attention to the "friends and family" who don't like your pictures on IG, FB, or your posts PERIOD, but loves everyone else's!! Pay attention to the "friends and family" who don't "clap" when you win, but congratulate others. A lot of people are around to be nosy, NOT because they actually care!!!! KNOW who to keep around & KNOW who to keep at a DISTANCE! 💯

What Is Toxic?

Agreed. If you’re locked in with folks, y’all will fall out from time to time, but as long as y’all make up, that’s cool. My definition of toxic is ongoing drama with someone. If y’all are constantly battling, one or both of you is the problem. At that point, both need to part ways.

 As a believer, there's nothing wrong with asking Christians to agree with you in prayer, but the last time I checked, God gave every believer a mouth so what's stopping you from going to God for yourself? I understand the verse that says "When two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst", but some Christians are too lazy to go to God for themselves and instead take the easy way out and ask other believers to pray with them. I seldom ask fellow believers to agree with me in prayer because I figure, I can go directly to God for myself.

TV Black Fathers: Chill vs. No-Nonsense

I came up on Good Times, Cosby Show, Fresh Prince & Family Matters, and each black father was not the same. If you did wrong, you could get by with Carl Winslow, Cliff Huxtable & Uncle Phil, but James Evans wasn't having it. James was quick to reach for his belt like he had a gun anytime his kids got beside themselves. I believe James' old-school discipline kept his kids out of trouble because they knew what James would do to them if he found out that Michael & J.J. were cutting up. When the Warlords tried recruiting J.J. for warfare, James wasn't having it, especially since one member was disrespectful to his wife. Carl, Cliff & Uncle Phil were good in their own right, but they let their kids get by with too much foolishness. As soon as James was killed off, Good Times was NEVER the same because John Amos wasn't with J.J.'s antics. John Amos aka James Evans reminds me a lot of my dad; knew when to be tough and loving, but was a disciplinarian.

Sunday Message: What Being A Provider Entails

Sunday Gospel: At times, it's impossible to balance family and work due to conflicting demands. Either your family will demand more of your time or your job will; you cannot have it both ways. One is bound to suffer. If you put your family first, your job will suffer and vice versa. The key is finding a supportive spouse that understands your rationale for putting in extra hours on the job so you can make sure they're straight. A man's job is to provide for his family and part of provision means you have to take advantage of overtime opportunities or extra income opportunities. After all, he's doing it for the family. Women need to stop running guilt trips on their man because if the money wasn't coming in, she would be upset about that but when the money coming in, she doesn't say anything (by right she shouldn't). At least he has a job because most men don't work. If a man works too much, his woman gets pissed and wants him home more; If he's not making enough, she wants him to step his finance game up. Damned if you do and don't with some women. Did it ever occur to some women that the reason why their man may spend more time at work than with her is because she NAGS too much? *Crickets* No man wants to come home to a motormouth. I said all that to say this: You can't always balance work & family because one is bound to suffer. That Part.

Sometimes families stop gathering because once Big Mama is gone there is no reason to put up with the toxic behavior that went on for generations.

The younger generation sees the 💩 the older generation put up with for the sake of family, and wants no part of that.🤷🏾‍♂️Family is important, but not important enough for constant drama. There comes a time in one’s life where you must remove yourself from toxic environments. Another reason is that many of the elders in the family have passed, and family reunions just aren’t the same without Big Mama, Grandaddy, etc.

 I send my condolences to Shanquella Robinson’s family; their loved one died at the hands of her frenemies. The death of Shanquella Robinson by her so-called “friends” should serve as a wake-up call to watch those you’re cool with. Some people will continue kekeing with everybody who shows them love.🤷🏾‍♂️I see why some people stay to themselves because you don’t know who’s legit anymore. Some people get close to you and pull mess like this, so it’s almost not worth it to befriend people.

I appreciate a concerned woman just like every man does, but some women should understand one thing: If she asks her man what's on his mind and he doesn't tell her, it means 2 things: 1. He doesn't want her to know, and 2. He could be going through something major and doesn't want to burden her. Men are solvers by nature, and sometimes men aren't going to tell their woman what's wrong because he's focused on fixing the problem.

It's funny how people will try to condemn you for not helping others. They'll accuse you of "blocking your blessings". Okay, so why aren't YOU helping those people? This Or That: 10K A Month Or 100K A Month

This question is about priorities: Would you rather work for your money or get free money to do nothing? I can live good off 10K monthly. I like working, but I would be lying if I said I wouldn't entertain 10k monthly doing nothing. For me, 10k monthly translates to 120k annually, which is enough to live on. I can pay off my mom's car & mine, continue renovating my home, take care of my oldest nieces' college education, etc. Greedy people couldn't live off 10k a month because they have expensive taste. 10k a month would allow more of a life: I go to the gym early morning, then come home and spend time with my dogs. I refuse to work 12 hours a day even if I made more. I wouldn't have much time for anything because I would be working.

Today's Message: Love Yourself First, Then Love Someone Else

 Why are some people scared to be alone? They choose wrong & get hurt, so they label all (wo)men as no good. That comes from not loving oneself enough to accept that you may never find a (wo)man. I get that humans were made for relationships (to an extent), but it's never been that serious for me to get involved with the wrong people. I'm happy for everyone who has found the right person to do life with, but for those who are desperate to be with someone, don't claim the wrong person and wonder why you end up in your feelings playing sad songs. The best way to find yourself is by yourself. When you're comfortable with self, you can be comfortable with someone else.

Anything For A Friend

 

It's sad to see people do anything for friendship. These people are so scared to be alone that they will sell their character and values just to be approved by others. I promise it's never been that deep for me. I don't fit in & never will. I never wanted to. It takes more heart to ride solo than to be a mini-me. I don't consider everyone a friend because I don't use that term loosely. For me, a friend is someone that I've known since childhood, someone that's got my back & vice versa, we keep it real with each other, and so on.

It is pathetic. Who raised these grown folks to follow the leader? When I was a kid, and I wanted to do what everyone else was doing, all my parents had to ask me was this question: If everybody jumped off a building, would you? I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad I was raised to think for self, because the majority can be wrong.

Another bomb comment from one of my FB friends. She nailed it: Humans are way too fake & phony, so it's best to deal with them accordingly.

Monday Sermon: Let People Be Great

One thing I hate more than anything is jealousy. Today’s Word: If you have to undermine someone’s success with comments like “I’ve had what you just achieved” or “Everything you’re doing, I’ve already done,” you’re a hater and need help. Let people be great. Just because you’ve had everything handed to you, doesn’t mean others have. Unlike you, some people had to work for their success, and those who went through hell to make it tend to appreciate their success more because of what it took.

1 dead, 8 injured (some victims in serious condition) yesterday during FAMU’s homecoming. The fallen victim’s family was a classmate at my old high school. I didn’t know him personally, but a lot of my classmates did and they say he was a good dude. The murdered young man’s family has to bury their loved one. I hurt for the victim’s family because they lost their son, cousin, nephew, uncle, etc. too soon. I know violence doesn’t discriminate; the same violence that happens at HBCU homecomings also takes place at other schools, but it seems like HBCU’s are in the spotlight every time something bad happens. What is it, do people wait to cut up at HBCU homecomings? It seems like it. 

In light of the violence that took place during Homecoming weekend, maybe Homecoming should be canceled since clowns want to act a fool. It’s pitiful that folks can’t have fun without gunfire.🤦🏾 I’m sick of these 🤡 not knowing how to act around FAMU Homecoming. Every time, there’s a shooting/murder.🤦‍♂️Who raised these fools?

Learn to be ok with people missing out on you. Stop proving you’re solid & move on! 

I’m glad people miss out on me because it means we’re not good for each other. I don’t fit in; never did & wanted to. I do me. In my mind, people who go out of their way to prove their solidity to others are insecure. They aren’t comfortable enough in themselves to be unbothered with acceptance from the masses. People who are truly solid don’t have to prove it to others, they are solid whether people realize it or not.

Supreme Court Blocks Student Debt Relief Challenge

I giggled when the Supreme Court struck down a legal challenge by 6 Republican-led states to block Biden's student loan forgiveness program because it's comedy. Are the Republicans that hell-bent on stopping relief that could help tens of millions? It's crazy.

At this point, the more Republicans try to challenge Biden's student loan forgiveness program, the dumber they look because none of the challenges will hold up in court.

 You Know What's Funny, Take 1: Some women actually have a problem with their man working too much. If he's ever been unemployed, she probably was pressuring him to find a job, and now that he's been employed, she has a problem with him working too much. For most men, their identity centers around who they are and their occupation. A man's job is to provide for his family, and how can he do that if he's sitting on his bum stuck under her 24-7, 365? Some women should stop complaining about their man working too much because 9 times out of 10, he's hustling to make a better way for his family. That extra money she gets to go get her nails and hair done, he's responsible for that unless she's single and makes her own money.

Controversial evangelist Juanita Bynum has been in the news for charging thousands at her prayer seminars. Since when did prayer cost? I want to know because the way I was taught, prayer is free. I don't need to pay thousands of dollars to learn how to get God's attention. I can share what's on my mind with him for free. When I think of Juanita Bynum's prayer seminars, I think she has special prayers that are guaranteed to get favorable answers from God. The crazy thing is that people are buying into this craziness. I'll never pay for something I can do for free. I want to showcase a couple comments from FB friends that coincides with this topic:

She's not lying. Religion is a money making business because it seems like that's where many millionaires are made. This goes back to a previous statement I made about the motives of some for ministry. Are some pastors and Christian leaders getting into ministry to create change, or get rich? I'm asking for everyone. Maybe I need to consider getting into ministry if that's the road to fame & fortune. Prosperity preaching is popular, which explains why many megachurches and churches are filled weekly, because that's what people want to hear. Very few want to hear uncompromising truth.

This brother's comment is on point, and I'm seeing it more daily. Ministry has become so mainstream that many megachurch pastors use their position to get rich. Take Bishop Jakes for example, he started off preaching the uncompromising truth of God's Word, but once he got major, he started watering down God's word because he wanted to be secular. He changed his stance on sin, and I stopped listening to him after that. I'm not against living a blessed life, but if it comes at the expense of preaching the truth, I don't want it.

Congratulations Florida, you played yourself.🤦🏾17 people shot & killed, 17 wounded and all this scumbag shooter gets is a life sentence with no parole?🤦🏾Those jurors are idiots. The blood of the fallen is on their hands because THEY let the shooter walk. I feel for the victims’ families because they didn’t get justice for their dead loved ones. Silent moment for the fallen in the Parkland Massacre, and a longer moment of silence for how stupid those jurors are for letting the shooter walk free.

Question Of The Day: Marriage vs. Kids

How is marriage a big commitment but having kids together isn’t?🤔 

My answer: Marriage has more at stake than just having kids out of wedlock. In marriage, two people are coming together to build a legacy. Both man & woman must be on the same page, or the marriage won’t last. If a man & woman have kids out of wedlock, there’s no expectation to stay together. If the man can’t stand the woman (vice versa), he can go about his business & co-parent. There are couples who have kids out of wedlock & marry later; how often does that happen?🤔It’s the old school in me, but I’d rather marry before having kids because at least…she has shown herself worthy of being my wife & my child(ren)’s mother.

I think a lot of Christians settle for surface teaching because they’re scared of the loopholes they may find if they dig deep into the Bible.

The power dynamic is never equal, nor should it be. Someone has to take the lead. If not, the relationship will be without direction which is why most relationships fail.

"There's a problem with the way we teach Christianity these days. Instead of letting our lights shine, we are taught to shut up and not say anything - to be quiet and not offend anyone. We are called to be the light in the world. When our light is turned off it's victory for darkness, it's a victory for ignorance.

Christians have a duty to be heard. Our primary purpose is not just to be seen by the world, but also to be heard. We cannot live in the shadows of this world. And so we're done being silent. We are called to be a voice for those who cannot speak, to be a light to those living in darkness. We are not meant to sit idly by while the world is burning around us and go on as though nothing is wrong. There are many in this world who are afraid to speak up. We must not be afraid to stand up for what is right.

Let's turn up the volume and start standing up to be heard out together."

This discussion is calling out Christians for staying silent in the face of sin. The world can push their agenda, but God's people can't push theirs? Makes no sense, but a new day is coming (or has arrived) where Christians are roaring loud; they're tired of the enemy having his way in society. Based on what I've seen; Christianity has been watered down since the 2000s. Old-school minister RW Schambach said it best: The world has become like the church, and the church like the world. You can’t tell them apart. When some believers don’t speak out against sin, they’re supporting it. Too many Christians wanna go along to get along. Some Christians need to make a decision: Stand for Christ & be hated, or co-sign the world & be popular.

Some women need to stop trying to make men emotional like they are; we’re not & never will be. It takes a lot for a man to show emotion, and when he does…it’s real.

To each their own, but…I can’t have a woman cooking for me. Number one, I’m not built like that & 2: I enjoy taking time to make something myself. Some folks use what they did & do for you against you as soon as y’all fall out.

As I get older, more things become irrelevant to me.

Successful people have no reason to be mad if they feel used. It’s their fault for letting any & everybody in their circle. 

Independent Party

 

For me, it's easy to see why many people are flipping to independent. The Republicans & Democrats are full of crap. It's funny to see supporters of either party bashing each other, as if their party is the best. If the Democrat party is so great, WHY did they start the KKK? I'll wait. Republicans are no better because they've been vocal opponents of student debt relief, and many of them are launching legal challenges to prevent it. Mitch McConnell (Republican) is the most infamous republican because he's been known to block any relief designed to help regular American, but this is the same guy who supports giving tax breaks to the rich. I've been a Democrat for so long until I made a decision to go Independent, because I can no longer support what God's against. Think about it, the Democrats are pushing an ungodly agenda and I won't support that. The Independent party may not be popular, but at least they stand alone.

I've said this before & I'll repeat: Kanye West lost the ONE person who kept him on track, his mother. If Kanye's mother was alive, I'm sure she wouldn't let him carry on with his foolishness. In my opinion, he's doing too much. It sounds like Kanye's not allowing himself to grieve his mother's death because since his mom died, he's been on 10 nonstop. I guess staying busy is how Kanye deals with his mom's death, I don't know. If Kanye has a circle, they're letting him look crazy because they're not pulling him aside and telling him to fall back with the foolery.

Candace Owens is double-minded, which is why I can't take anything she says seriously. First, she criticizes the black community for its perversity, then praises the Super Bowl halftime performance. She needs to pick a side: Support the black community (good or bad) or not. You have people who praise CO for being well-spoken & intelligent. A fool can be intelligent & well-spoken at times. I would respect Candace Owens more if she stuck to a position. If you're hypocritical, be that. If you're going to criticize the black community for glorifying destruction, be consistent. Candace has so many people fooled (not me, because I see through her).

Eating Alone

This is a word. Everyone is not supposed to eat at your table. Did they help prepare the meal? No, so why do some people let others eat at their table? Because some people need company, even if the company is bad. I was never this way because I'm content with(out) company. I can eat alone & think nothing of it. The parable: Some successful people allow the wrong people access to their table, and wonder why they feel taken advantage of. Everyone comes with you, can't go with you. As you elevate, your circle drops because some people aren't willing to do the work to go up with you, so they come dead weight. If you're that loyal, I salute you. I'm loyal to a fault, but I'm too old to let people eat at my table who didn't help prepare the meal. If that makes me selfish, I'll be that. If you feel used, it's not the person's fault for using you, it's your fault for allowing them. If you have to, eat alone. It's better for your peace.

The Devil Uses Willing People

 Sometimes, I'm annoyed when Christians make excuses for sinners. The devil (Satan) uses those who are willing. If God gives us free will to do wrong or right, then by the same logic, people CHOOSE to do evil. In seminary, many pastors were taught that sin is a result of Satan, which is true to a degree but..most people flat-out choose a sinful life. Not everything can or should be blamed on the devil. Personally, I think we give too much credit to Satan for society's ills. Again...free will means we can choose to do wrong or right.

I thank God I guide my life with discretion. It keeps me out of the conundrums many people face. Peace is good, try it sometime.

 Forgiveness doesn't mean giving people permission to mistreat you over and over. You can forgive someone and cross them out of your life.

She Won't Let Me Be A Man

 

Times must've changed, because I can't recall a time where men needed a woman's permission to be a man. Some men must be referring to this modern definition of manhood: Today's men cowtow to women's wishes of manhood so he can be in her good graces. I was a boy that grew into a man, and will remain one until God calls me home. I think it's crazy that some men complain that women won't let them be men. Sir, do you talk with bass in your voice? Do you take charge when necessary? Will you protect loved ones from harm? If the answers (and they should be) are yes, you're a man in my eyes. A man's man should never apologize for being who God made him. If some women don't like it, tough. Those aren't the kind of women he should be looking for anyway.

Do White People Understand White Privilege?

Earlier today, I watched a Netflix documentary on White Privilege by Chelsea Handler. It was a good documentary that shed light on what I already know: White privilege exists whether whites want to admit it or not. Let's be real, the reason some whites won't admit white privilege exists is because they're beneficiaries. They were born into advantages that minorities are fighting for to this day. Think about it: A white person can be wanted for a felony & get pulled over by the law, and almost get off scot free, whereas a black person wanted for a felony can comply with the officer, and still run the risk of being shot. Truthfully, I understand some blacks' frustration and lack of desire to educate some whites on their privilege because many of them won't admit it, and that's fine. They don't need to admit their privilege, but smart blacks know what it is. This is another conversation, but I don't buy these white allies standing alongside blacks criticizing white supremacy & systemic racism because to me, they're trying to get points. Were they on the front lines risking their lives during the height of white supremacy & racial injustice? NO. 

P.S: Personally, all prejudice fools (white and black) can go to hell with gasoline draws on.

How To Handle Trauma

 

Where do people get off telling someone how to handle trauma, especially if they caused it? If you're the cause of someone's trauma, you don't dictate to the victim(s) how to handle their pain. Tormentors should worry about retribution from the victims' loved ones.

Thursday Message: Raising A Disabled Child

Saturday Gospel: Why are some children born with disabilities and others are born healthy? That doesn't make sense because every child is entitled to a healthy life free of disabilities. It breaks my heart because there are people that have multiple disabilities. They must've been cursed with bad genetics to have multiple disabilities. That's why I say genetics can be a blessing & a curse because if a couple decides to have a child, they need to find out their family's health history; are there disabilities or other health conditions that are hereditary and if so, there needs to be a reluctancy on the part of one or both parents because raising a special needs child is tough. You have to have great patience and strength to love that child through the ups & downs. Life is hard enough but having a disability is 10x harder because disabled students are bullied disproportionately in schools, society is ignorant to the challenges disabled people face, employer discrimination, etc. I have no problem with a couple wanting children but if one or both people have a disability then it's risky bringing a child into this world because you don't want your child(ren) inheriting your condition. I'm very much aware of God's power because even though a disability may be hereditary, God can still flip the script to where that disability WON'T touch your child. Keep your child covered under God's blood and be thankful you are blessed with healthy children because there are couples out there that aren't so fortunate. Seeing these people take simple things for granted makes me mad because if they knew how less fortunate some people are, they would tighten up and appreciate what they have. I just think adoption would be a better choice for couples where one or both are disabled because at least with adoption, you can choose what kind of child you want: newborn, toddler, preteen or teen. Even with adoption, you still need to do your homework and find out any health conditions that exist and then decide if you are up to the challenge of raising a child with special needs. It's not easy by any means and those who say it is, are lying.

Biden Announces Student Debt Relief

Student debt relief has been trending on social media (and still is since Biden announced his student debt relief plan) for a while. I support relief for struggling folks regardless of the reason. Unless someone was born with rich parents who paid their children's way through school, nobody should be in their feelings over relief that could help tens of millions. The fact that there's outrage over student debt relief shows how selfish society is. It's the same tired arguments that's used against student debt relief: What about those who repaid their loans, and those who didn't go to college because they didn't want student debt? Look, I respect some people's decision not to attend college because they don't want student debt, but unless you're willing to work your way through school, get Pell grants to cover undergrad and/or a full scholarship, it's almost impossible to leave college without some student debt.

❤You're a boss but you have to flip money and hustle folks out of their hard earned money just so you can flex? You're not a boss, you're a scam artist, a bottom feeder, a scumbag to the highest degree... You're not smart enough to work hard for want you want (which IMO makes it easier to enjoy when you DO get it) so you have to prey on unsuspecting victims & cheat your way to the top.... Well enjoy while it lasts because there's no profit in ill gotten gain & when your entire world crashes down that crash landing is gonna be painful & nobody will be there to ice the wounds & offer any support #SadCases❤

Putting Yourself 1st

When you work on your own happiness, people look at you crazy like you’re selfish! God forbid people put themselves first.😒Truth be told, I don’t care how others feel about me putting myself first because I know I give more to others than self, so they can drown in their feelings.

Elections

The above photo sums up my thoughts about elections. If you have to trash your opponent to make yourself look good, you don’t deserve my vote. Tell me your strategy to solve problems; how does your track record relate to your vision for this country/city? One candidate attacking another candidate is middle school behavior. You expect juvenile behavior from kids because they don’t know any better, but when adults cut the fool, it shows that some adults never grow up. If you can’t stand on your own platform to make a difference, then what good would my, or anyone else’s vote do?
