Not long ago, 5 Memphis officers were charged in Tyre Nichols' death. A 6th officer was also fired, which makes me think this was deep.
Takeaways from Tyre Nichols death:
1. The 5 Memphis officers have JUST put their families at risk. If the officers are not tried & convicted, then Nichols' family may be looking for street justice. The officers' families may require 24-7 police protection or for their safety, they may have to leave Memphis. Even if the officers' families leave Memphis, will they be safe anywhere? If the slain person's family feels they haven't gotten justice through the courts, then they may handle it themselves.
2. ALREADY...some people are saying the officers' families are victims. Let's stop the narrative of saying the criminals' families are victims when THEIR loved one victimizes somebody. The REAL victims are Nichols' family, because they will never see their loved one again.
3. Actions have consequences. When you do wrong, not only will you pay (now or later), but so will your loved ones. Nowadays, if someone has pressure for you, and they can't get to you, they will go after your loved ones.
