I’m convinced some blacks don’t read because if they did, they would know that Uncle Tom is a compliment. For those of you who don’t know who “Uncle Tom” is, his name is Josiah Henson: Author, abolitionist & minister. In short, Uncle Tom didn’t beat black women & wouldn’t tell on other slaves. He even put cotton in slaves bags so they wouldn’t get beat. These 2022 black folk wouldn’t know about that because some of them are too ignorant to research. It’s easier for them to use Uncle Tom as an insult than do research to find out what he stood for.
