When  Being Transparent Is Too Much!

Transparency is defined as the quality of being easily seen through or open and honest.  We all want people who are transparent with us!   What happens when transparency is too much?

When transparency is too much, you can attract people who are with you but not for you!   I’ve come to realize that I’m too transparent.  I share good deals, sales, discounts, hurts, pain, victories and defeats.   I share goals, dreams, failures and sometimes successes. I share myself, my money, my time and my talents.

I once was blind but now I see…everyone with me isn’t for me.  Most around me do not share to the degree that I do!   They share just enough to give the illusion of friendship.

Time has revealed that people can be on your team and not want you to win.  Those types are would be assassins.  I refer to them as would be assassins because no weapon will or shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).   Don’t be like me and give them the weapon(s).

Being too transparent has led me to garnering superficial relationships (friendships).   While I look at you as a trusted source, you look at me as a gossip!  While I look at you as a confidant, you are a bone collector!

“Honesty and transparency can make you vulnerable, be honest and transparent anyway”-Mother Teresa.   I love my ability to be vulnerable.  This won’t change; however, I will change those individuals with whom I have been vulnerable, honest and transparent.

Since my transparency has contributed to many superficial friendships, I must be as wise (shrewd, clever) as a serpent, but harmless as a dove (Matthew 10:16).

Great post from this young lady. She broke it down as to why one should be cautious about who they’re transparent with. Some people are so foul that they’ll use your transparency against you. I’m transparent with the right people; everyone else will get bits & pieces until they prove themselves worthy.
