A Happy Home

Most people really never take into consideration just how influential the function of the home is to raising children. Maybe this is due to most of us for the last 3-4 generations all come from broken and unconventional homes ourselves and feel as though we are ourselves well adjusted. When in fact we can all learn something from ourselves and our upbringing.

It takes courage to "look within" and I am realizing that although it has become "fashionable" to do this, very few learn from it.

Mate Stealing

I've heard of instances where people have stolen someone's man or woman. Can you "steal" someone's mate? It depends on your definition. Some people say it's possible for you to steal another person's mate and others say your mate was attracted to someone else and decided to start a new relationship with them. Some   people love hard so they can't fathom another person taking their man/woman. I feel like this: If another person steals your mate, LET THEM GO! There's millions of other men and women in the world, why stress over the loss of one? Sure, (s)he may have been the one for you, but if they allowed an outsider to steal them away, they weren't right for you to begin with. A loyal woman or man would not allow themselves to be stolen. Even if you steal someone away, what does that prove? It proves that he/she wasn't right for you like you thought. Let the other person have your trash while you go for your treasure. Many times, the person who allegedly "stole" your man or woman is doing you a favor because they are responsible for the drama, not you. If they stole your (wo)man, they can have them. People need to realize that you can't keep what doesn't want to be kept. You can give your mate the best of you and they still leave. It sucks, but that's life. Not everyone is right for each other. When you meet someone that's RIGHT for you, you'll look back and say "It was a blessing in disguise." I refuse to force a woman to be with me. If she wants to be with me, great, we'll make it happen and if not, exit stage left. Richard doesn't chase after any woman and I'm not about to start now.

Todays Black Men Are Too Weak For Black Women!

The title of this video blog by Tommy Sotomayor is a Jedi Mind Trick. The title is simply stating how today's black men are fed up with the sassy, ghetto attitude that some black women possess and how they dress it up as being strong & independent. Can you blame some black men? A man deals with enough outside the home and the last thing I, or any sensible brother want is to come home and have to deal with more drama from our so-called "woman" No, I'll bypass all that. I'm not saying that all white women are pushovers because some of them will check a man just the same but for the most part, some white women know what it takes to keep their man happy, and he responds in favor to her. Some black women feel that a man is supposed to roll over and accept her attitude & sass. A little PLAYFUL sass is ok but when the attitude is on-going, a man has to decide if he's going to love her through it or hightail it elsewhere. Me, I prefer the path of least resistance. I've been through enough in my life to where I want my latter days to be better than my former days. I'm about peace & quiet and that's the reason why I'm single, I have little patience for most women's sass/attitude. If she calls me weak for refusing to tolerate her slick mouth & attitude, I'll be that. When I cut her loose, it will give me confirmation of having made the right decision.

The Importance Of Marriage

Why is marriage important? I've thought about this for the longest and have come up with a variety of answers. Aside from the financial & legal benefits, is there any benefit to marriage? Sure, you have companionship and someone to be there for you in the good & bad times but most people can't give concrete information as to why marriage is important. I was having great conversation with a Facebook friend and she informed me that those who are likely to be selected for upper management are married folks. In their eyes, married people are more responsible & stable so they can handle the responsibilities of being in an upper management position. I don't think it's fair to assume that married people are better suited for upper management because you have single people who have their stuff together. If anything, I think single people would be better suited for upper management because singles don't have any demands on their time, and they are able to devote most of their day to their position. When you're married, you have to balance work & family. A single person doesn't have to worry about it because their main focus is the job. Granted, singles have a life outside the job (as they should) but overall, they don't have any responsibility to others like a married person. Your spouse is going to want you to spend more time with them and your job may require you to put in extra time towards a project and that's where it gets tricky. To say that married people are better suited for upper management is ridiculous; like to say that married couples are more responsible & stable than singles. Besides, how many married couples are TRULY happy? There are some couples that front like their happy but deep down, they are beating down the door to get out of their situation. Singles don't have to deal with the ups & downs of married life (spouse acting stupid, kids health issues, etc.).  Here are some statistics according to http://www.divorcestatistics.org
Marriage Divorce statistics (in percent)
First Marriage 45% to 50% marriages end in divorce
Second Marriage 60% to 67% marriages end in divorce
Third Marriage 70% to 73% marriages end in divorce

Looking at those statistics, they confirm my belief that marriage is dead. The more you get married, the higher the likelihood of divorce. Many times, people who don't have the willpower to make the first marriage work normally don't have the willpower to make any subsequent marriages work. I'm willing to bet that these are the big reasons why some first time marriages fail and most 2nd and 3rd marriages fail even more: They weren't over their first marriage and rushed into the second.
Didn't learn from their first marriage and repeated the same mistakes.
Blending families can be the hardest job as a parent, and it puts tremendous strain on a couple.
Some people realize they lived through one divorce and aren't so afraid on another.

Last but not least, most people are afraid to be alone, which could be a major factor as to why some people want to be married.

10 Babies Momma Rapper Shawty Lo & Tommy Sotomayor!

I follow Tommy Sotomayor on Facebook and he says real stuff. He doesn't care if you dislike him or not. His mindset is if it applies, fix it. We need more outspoken commentators like Tommy that aren't afraid to tell it like it is. I've heard that rapper Shawty Lo has his own show that features his 10 babies moms. 1 baby mama is enough but 10? Make it so bad, he has 11 children by these different women. Since he's not selling any records, reality TV must be his last stop. This is coonie buffoonery at its finest and is exactly why some blacks are made a mockery of. When you parade ratchetness all over the media, this is what happens. But hey, that's what people want to see so who am I to judge? Knowing me, I'll most likely watch anyway because for me, it's entertainment. It will teach me who and what NOT to be in life. That got me thinking, if Shawty Lo can get a reality show, what's my excuse? All I have to do is parade around like a clown and rack up $200K per episode. Then again, I couldn't embarrass myself on national TV like that.

I Cheat Because I Love You

*Sigh*. I've heard & read a lot of stupid statements but this one takes the cake. A Facebooker by the name of Tiara Lee posted the following status: "Yeah he mess around with other girls, but at the end of the day he knows where his home at" LOL! Do some women REALLY believe this fecal matter? I hope some women are joking when they make asinine statements like this because if not, I have to wonder how low their self-esteem is to believe this. When someone cheats, they don't love you. They cheat because of a void that's missing in their relationship. They feel like the grass is greener on the other side so that's what drives a man or woman to cheat. It's amazing the kind of crap that some women (and men) let come out of their mouths. Let me tell my lady "I mess around with other women, but at the end of the day I know where home is" and she'll look at me like I'm stupid and probably inflict bodily harm. I wouldn't put her through that because if I get into a relationship, the only eyes I will lay on is my woman. I'm too good of a man to cheat on my woman because of what it'll do to me and her. I would get an uneasy feeling about having cheated on my lady because I knew I did wrong, especially if she's been faithful to me. My thing is, if you're going to cheat then leave. Why cheat anyway? If you're not satisfied, then do yourself and your partner a favor and bounce. No sense in hurting her and you looking crazy after she finds out (because she will). If a man messes around with other women, he DOES NOT know where his home is at because if he did, he would think about what his cheating will do to his woman. A man that knows what he has at home looks forward to coming home to his woman every day. He knows that if his woman gives him a reason to come home everyday, he will not stray.

Pseudogoddess Syndrome

This video is an extension of my previous blog commentary. Many women suffer from Pseudogoddess Syndrome because of how they like to announce that I'm A Queen this & that. If you check their conduct, it's far from that of a queen. When a man points this out to them, she's quick to verbally rip his head off. I'm all for women empowering themselves (don't get me wrong), but you can boost yourself up and remain humble. Some women lose sight of this.

Gentle Parenting
