This topic is one of the most debated subjects on social media; Some people agree with the sentiment, others don't. I used to think the man should be served first since he's the provider, and it's showing the order of things, but now my view has evolved based on the child(ren). In my book, children should receive their plates first, not out of disrespect for the man of the home, but because children get hungry sooner than adults so they have little patience for waiting. So many men want to claim head of the house, but don't want the responsibility that comes with it. From a Biblical standpoint, the head is a servant, and what does a servant do? He makes sure those under him are straight before he partakes. I don't care what other cats do in their home, but in my home, I'm making sure my family is straight before I get my plate. I may not be hungry due to eating a big meal earlier that day, so that's more for the wife and kids. At the very least, I pack what's leftover for lunch the next day. It's not that serious to me if I or my family eats first.
