Protection

 If I asked several people, I'd get several different answers. In a relationship, protection means providing guidance and advice to avoid potentially dangerous situations. Protection for me would be either removing, or never placing myself and my spouse in a bad situation, while having the ability to react if those options are not available. Last but not least, protection means being able to see down the line & always...always have your partner's best interest in mind.

Today's Thought

 As a Christian, I feel like the book of Revelation is unfolding before us. It shouldn’t be shocking, either, given the state of immorality in our world. Every day, the boundaries of sin seem to be pushed further and further. The line between right and wrong has slowly been erased by society, television, pop culture, entertainment.

Witchcraft, spiritualism, “New Age” belief systems are being celebrated and exalted. Abortions, literal baby murders, are called a “right” and are supported by so many. We have been removed further from the world God created and intended.

We need to take this time to re-evaluate ourselves. We need to prepare and repent. Jesus will return like a thief in the night. People are dying left and right. Will I be one of them? Will you? Are we ready? This is a fantastic wake-up call, and I am taking it so seriously. I want to go home to my Father when my time is up.

Until The Lord calls me away from this world to the next, I want to make it clear that I believe in Jesus Christ as the true Lord and Savior. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was sacrificed on the cross, died for our sins, and rose again. He loves us all dearly (far more than we deserve) and forgives our sins if we are in repentance. His Word says "whosoever believeth in Me, should not perish but have everlasting life”.

God's 3-Fold Judgment

 When God dealt with Adam & Eve's disobedience, he did so in the order of the infraction: 1. Serpent. 2. Eve. 3. Adam. Adam gave Eve the same instructions the Lord gave him. When Satan asked her a lot of questions, she recited to Satan what God's order was, so she knew what went on. The serpent & woman got it worse; God cursed them in their physical bodies; he didn't curse the man physically at least not directly, he cursed the ground so that man would labor, and women would have labor pains during childbirth, plus be ruled by man. In my opinion, labor pains & being ruled by man is worse than what Adam was given. If we're honest, Adam got off easy. Most men take pride in grinding, it's part of men's DNA to work & if he can't, he feels less than a man.

When you stay in your lane & observe, you learn a lot about people. People are a trip sometimes because when you're doing what they want, they sing your praises. As soon as you say no, some people aren't feeling you because they've grown accustomed to you co-signing. At times, you need to go along to get along, but if following the crowd leads to destruction....I'm not following. Do I care if people get mad and talk about me? No. That's what's wrong with society today, people would rather have an amen corner instead of folks telling them the real. I guess that's why I have a very small circle because I'm not a sheep; I actually think for myself even if it means standing alone.

Today's Thought: Answered Prayers

I believe this to be true. If God didn't answer prayers, he'd still be God. 

Defending Your Spouse

Will Smith slapping Chris Rock is trending on social media. You can't be on any social media outlet without a meme or edited video about the situation. Some of them are funny, but the question remains was Will wrong for slapping Chris Rock? The responses are split: Yes, No & Split. My view: This isn't the first time Chris talked about Will's family. Rock talked about Will's family before & Will called him on it. Last night's Oscar's was the tipping point & Will felt like he had to handle it. I respect Will for standing up for his woman because that's what a man should do. No real man is going to stand for someone disrespecting his wife (and vice versa). Personally, I would've saw Chris after the event because some of the Oscar officials already think black men are gangsters, and Will feeding into the stereotype doesn't help matters. You never show your behind on TV, let alone on a national stage. Possible backlash could mean Will's Oscar being rescinded, facing charges, etc. How do you come back from this? Only time will tell. I know one thing: Being a comedian, Chris Rock will find a way to create humor from this situation. If there's anything we can take from the Chris Rock-Will Smith beef, it's to watch your mouth. Everyone doesn't let slick comments about their family slide. People have lost their lives over disrespectful comments. I believe family should be off limits in comedy, but in comedy...any subject is up for grabs. As long as the comedian isn't disrespectful with their comedy, I don't see any issue with jokes. Again...because of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, comedians may have a target on their backs because this opens the door for anyone to get in their feelings over jokes that aren't in poor taste.

Any man would have done the same or similar as Will Smith, so I really don't fault him too much. A husband is supposed to protect his wife by any means necessary (and vice versa), but...let's not forget that Jada embarrassed Will one too many times. Will must really love Jada in spite of everything they put each other through.

Fellas: Follow God First, Your Woman Will Follow You

How can a man expect his woman to follow him & he's not following God? That makes 0 sense. No woman should follow her man if he's not following God because the only place he would lead her is to hell. Women have to discern whether where he's leading them is appropriate or astray. If he's following God, that's all the discernment she needs. God wouldn't lead astray. While I agree that a man should follow God, it doesn't always translate to women falling in line by default. That Jezebel spirit is strong in some women. A woman can have a competent man that's led by God, but some women will refuse submission. No matter if a man follows God, some women won't follow. That's why men need to be picky when choosing a mate; look at her character instead of her physical features. A spouse can make or break one's walk with God.
