There Is NO Black Community

What if I told you there is NO Black Community? That's right, there is no black community because there's too much discord among blacks. Some blacks can't stand seeing another black person blessed so they start throwing shade & trying to undermine him/her. Depending on the strength of the blessed black person, (s)he may let it slide because in their minds, those haters are jealous because they aren't prospering like (s)he is. In order for a community to be valid, a group of people must be able to co-exist. It doesn't mean everyone has to keke with some tea, but at least be cordial for goodness sakes. People can feel some kind of way, but deep down I'm telling the truth. I'm pro-black just like the next black person, but I call it how it is. The black community as a whole has no unity; it's everybody for themselves.
If a black person is serious about education, (s)he's clowned for it. "You're being white, such & such." The sad part is that the black community used to be strong. Go back to when blacks were fighting for equality & civil rights. If a black person was treated unjustly, other blacks rallied around him and went to war on that black person's behalf because of the mindset that if one suffers, we all suffer. Black neighborhoods were stable before drugs & violence, and poverty ran amok, and the list goes on. Having said that, no one can tell me there's a black community because I sure can't see one. You have black neighborhoods were people live together, but the unity is gone. Someone gets shot in the hood, no one bats an eye because it's just another day.

Should A Man Defend A Woman's Honor?

My answer depends on their relationship status. If they're seeing each other, yes. Friends? Of course, friends look out for each other. Anyone else? No. Many men would like to think they would defend a woman's honor, but in reality they wouldn't. The only women a man should defend is his mom, aunt, niece, sister or close lady friend; otherwise, she's on her own. I'm no different than other men in this aspect; I'm going to bat for my mom, nieces, aunt or close lady friend. Any other woman, she's out of gas. Feel how you want, but I'm being honest. Intervention can be tricky because most of the time, she's going back to him, so he defended her for nothing. A man is under no obligation to help any woman in distress, if he does then it's out of the goodness of his heart.
Too many times, people like running guilt trips on men for choosing not to intervene on a woman's behalf. Now I will help kids with no hesitation, because they can't defend themselves. Besides, an adult woman should know how to defend herself as a last resort. What did she do to put herself in that predicament? Are they a couple? Those are questions to consider before deciding to intervene. A man will always be a man, regardless of whether he intervenes on a woman's behalf or not, so let's stop shaming men into coming to some strange woman's rescue. For all we know, she's going to go back to him, so his help was for nothing. If we're really being honest, there's so much tension between men and women that if a man sees a woman being harassed or attacked, he'll walk right by like it's none of his business.

(S)he Loves Me Through My Faults

I think it's annoying when couples say "I love my mate because (s)he loves me through my faults." Let me explain why. When you're first getting to know someone, you want to know their positive attributes (as you should). Someone's good side is what draws you to them, and you build on that. After some years, a person's true colors start showing and it's on you to decide if you can love them at their worst, while focusing on their best. Very few people are capable of unconditional love, I don't care who they are. People can talk a good game about how they're able to love someone through the good & bad, but as soon as the bad shows up, they're singing a different tune. People shouldn't say they love someone through their faults unless they mean it, and that's real. It's easy to love someone when they're showing you the good side, but once they get comfortable enough with you and show their flaws, it's a different story. Me personally, I'd rather focus on someone's good side because the way my patience is set up, I'm quick to bounce if I find some aspect of their personality annoying. The older I get, the less I'm willing to deal with.

Bravo: Untying The Knot

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm growing tired of the attack on marriage. Everywhere you turn, there's a another show coming out attacking marriage. Last night, Bravo debuted Untying The Knot, a show about married celebrity couples trying to divorce. The first couple was music star Memphitz and Toya Wright; I watched the premiere episode and it was for the best that Memphitz & Toya split. I can't lie, Toya came out much better off because she got most of the marital assets in their name; Memphitz (real name Mickey) only got his watches & camera. That tells me Memphis didn't do his homework on Toya before he got married. He probably saw a pretty woman and lost his senses. I just hate seeing married couples in a bitter split because bitter divorces bring out the worst in people.
Couples fight hard for what they can get & unless both folks have a pre-nuptial agreement, someone's going to get taken to the cleaners. I understand divorce being a reality, but how about a show painting marriage in a positive light? You know, couples getting along & working through their issues. Let's see more pro-marriage shows because these anti-marriage shows have the same idea: Which couple can take each other for what they think they can get. Wait..I know why a pro-marriage show probably wouldn't do well, because no one wants to see peace & harmony. Folks would rather see feuding couples instead of harmonious couples. Also, most folks are getting divorced because they married for the wrong reasons.

Strawberry Letter: Years Of Cheating

She cheated on her husband BEFORE she married him. WHO failed WHO? SHE failed him just as much as HE failed her. Man #1 is nothing more than a “lover.” That’s why her relationship has been based purely on sex. He doesn’t love you, nor will he ever because he sees you for what you truly are – a MARRIED woman who he’s been sleeping with who gives him the perfect scenario – he screws you and then sends you back to your husband. No commitment whatsoever. And the same goes for man #2. She's not, nor will she ever be considered as marriage material to either of those men. They’ll continue using her for sex. Sad part is she's too blind to see this. Her lazy, weed-smoking husband picks fights because he most likely is also cheating.
She's the one who has no clue. Nothing good ever comes from cheating other than lies, drama, pain, and destruction. Her cheating began before she married her husband, who she had no business marrying in the first place. She asks Steve if she's wrong? She already knows the answer or she wouldn’t have wrote this Strawberry Letter. Steve’s advice will fall of deaf ears as she continues with her selfish and destructive behavior. I hope she doesn't have children because who she is, what she's doing, how she carries herself, and how she deals with circumstances are a direct reflection on them. Is this the image she wants her children to follow? That’s the question she should be asking.

Say It Loud, I'm A Side Piece & I'm Proud

Say It Loud, I'm A Side Piece & I'm Proud (repeat hook 10x)

Once upon a time, some women had morals about themselves. I remember being a side piece was frowned upon, but as time went on, more women started to embrace being the other woman. I just shake my head at it all, because it's none of my business. Personally, if a woman wants to degrade herself like that, that's her choice. The crazy thing about this side piece phenomenon is that the man is upfront in saying he's not leaving his woman for her, yet she still consents to secret sexual escapades. If I never had incentive to get in a relationship, this nonsense sealed the deal. I mentioned in a previous blog how side pieces are taking the place of main spouses, and a Facebook post from a group I'm in just proved it. Men can be sides just like women, only difference I see is that men seem to keep it on the low, whereas some women broadcast their side woman exploits.
In a side situation, both the married man and side woman are scum. The man's foul because he's violating his vows he took before her & God, and the side woman is foul because she's partaking in destroying a household. I don't respect that. In addition, the married man's wife is the biggest fool of all for co-signing the arrangement. Where's HER worth? It doesn't make sense getting married if you're going to have another person on the side; you might as well get into polygamy. (or polyandry for women, if a woman wants to have multiple men) One woman (who shall remain nameless due to confidentiality) said: "I'm not a side woman, I'm THE side woman" The married couple seems to know about her, so I guess he's ok with the arrangement. It couldn't be me, that's all I know.

Strawberry Letter: Teenage Love Affair

"He tells me he loves me" Awwww, does she want a cookie? He's telling her & other women he's been with the same thing, so what makes her special? To be honest, both her and her husband have no reason being upset with each other because BOTH of them are doing dirt. He's cheated on her, so she cheats in revenge. This is a good example of how some women try and do what men do; husband cheats, the wife cheats in revenge. What this lady doesn't realize is that she violated her wedding vows, so if her husband left her, he would be within his right. I take that back..no he wouldn't because he's online trying to find women to have relations with as well, so again..both of them are disrespecting their marriage.
The more of these stories I read, the more confirmation I receive that NO ONE honors their wedding vows anymore. Her sister can see she's being played, why can't this woman? The reason this woman can't see she's being played is for two reasons: 1. She's caught up in the sex, and 2. She refuses to see the error of her ways. She can convince herself she's happy as much as she likes, but the truth says otherwise. There's no love in their marriage because both are stepping outside of their relationship. Makes me wonder why did they get married anyway if all they're going to do is cheat. Yes, they have children, but I'm sure they know what's going on. They say they love each other & don't want to leave their spouses for fear of hurting them. It's too late because they've already hurt their spouses through their infidelity.
It doesn't matter what advice she asks for because she's not going to listen. She's already made up in her mind that she's going to pursue this guy romantically. How do I know? It's easy. They're not trying to cut their ties and supposedly they love each other.
