COVID-19 couldn’t have come at a worse time because social distancing is hitting the elderly hard. Think about it, many family members don’t visit elderly relatives in nursing homes as often as they should, so the loneliness has increased.🤔

Forced Caregiving: Filial Law

Forced Caregiving

Florida, and other states don’t have this law on the books; thank goodness for that. The states that have this law would have to prove the aging parents’ adult children have the means to support their elderly parents. 

Caregiving is a moral decision, it shouldn’t be mandated. If parents did right by their children, I feel the child should step up and help take care of their aging parent(s) within reason. If the parent(s) mistreated their child(ren), that adult child is under no obligation to care for their aging parent(s).
