Overlooked=Protection

Sometimes, people don't need to see your worth because they can't handle it. Let them stay blinded by the mess.

Today's Thought: Changing Your Outlook

It's said that your attitude determines your altitude. I'm starting to understand how vital a good attitude is to success. Some of the most successful people combine a good attitude with hustle.

Galatians 6:3,7-8: Be Real

Humility is the most attractive trait someone can have. I can't stand someone who thinks their crap doesn't stink.

Today's Thought: The Meaning Of Closed Doors

If you walk through a door that wasn't meant for you, God will close that door (the opportunity falls through). God opens doors, but some believers (myself included) should seek God as to what door(s) he wants them to walk through. When God opens a door and you have peace about that door, that's the door you're supposed to walk through.

Encouragement

How good is God, that he will answer your prayers before you finish praying? If that's not his goodness, I don't know what is. Recite this verse and thank God for the answer, because it's on the way.

Today's Thought: Forgiveness Is Hard

If you live long enough, you'll realize the more people hurt you, the tougher it is to forgive. The worst is some people who refuse to apologize for hurting you. It took me a while to get here, but I've arrived: Someone can hurt me, refuse to apologize and I'll keep it moving. Why? Because even if they ask for forgiveness, it won't be sincere. In that instance, I don't want half-hearted forgiveness requests; keep them. Someone who refuses to apologize for hurting you is showing how toxic they are. You never win by doing people dirty.

Why are so many Christians leaving 'churches'?

This video sheds light on why some Christians leave churches. They're not leaving their faith, but they're leaving organized religion for various reasons. Some Christians leave their church because they're not fed spiritually, others leave because they're maturing in their faith so they don't need a pastor spoonfeeding the Word to them, and there are Christians who leave churches because they're disgusted with how worldly the church has become. There are many reasons, but I feel the aforementioned reasons rank among the top reasons Christians leave the church. The decision to leave church should NOT be taken lightly because it has serious spiritual consequences for the believer. A believer that leaves the church loses accountability; they don't have fellow believers to rebuke them (in love) if they fall into sin. That believer isn't able to tithe; the Bible mandates Christians to give 10% of their income so there's meat in the storehouse. Without a church home, how can a Christian tithe? They could tithe to a Christian ministry or organization.

Without a solid spiritual foundation, Christians who leave church later leave their faith. This is because many believers haven't developed their own relationship with Jesus outside the church. Many don't pray or study God's word unless their pastor tells them to. I call these believers baby Christians because they are dependent on a Bible teacher to give them God's word. A baby Christian is someone who just came to Christ and has yet to mature in their faith. Sadly, there are Christians who have been in church 20+ years and still drink the milk of God's word. Those Christians should stay in church because their faith isn't strong enough to help them weather life's storms. As believers mature in their walk with God, they should desire the meat of the Word. It's the "meat" that gives you the strength to withstand life's storms. Seasoned believers understand the meat of God's word. Seasoned Christians can leave the church and still maintain their relationship with Christ. They study God's word, they pray & meditate regularly, plus they tithe to a Christian ministry. Because seasoned Christians have left the church, their relationship with Christ has grown because they're committed to going deeper in God. By diving into God's word, they discover God in ways like never before.

Snoop Dogg Apologizes to Gayle King~ I'M SORRY, GAYLE For Overreacting!...

Well...maybe Susan Rice was right that Snoop would lose if he didn't fall back. Snoop apologized to Gayle King for calling her out of her name, but his point still stands; Gayle shouldn't have brought up Kobe's sexual assault case when he's not here to defend himself. Oprah or Susan Rice must have called Snoop's mother, and that's what led to the apology. Snoop himself said he was raised better than that, so I respect him for manning up and issuing the apology for the harsh reaction, but he was right on everything else he said. Although it's no excuse, everyone has said foul stuff in rough times and even though an apology may be issued, that doesn't erase what happened. In my view, Snoop had no reason to apologize, but he had a lot to lose if he didn't: He would've lost his cooking show with Martha Stewart & other endorsements because companies don't want to deal with people that will be a liability. When you have the platform Snoop has, you have to move like you have a lot to lose, because you do. It takes one wrong move, and you could be done.

Put Respect On Kobe's Name

Oprah's protege Gayle King interviewed Lisa Leslie about her friend Kobe Bryant's death, but Lisa shut that down and didn't go into too much detail. Respect to Lisa Leslie for not taking the bait Gayle threw at her. Gayle did her job as a journalist, but there are lines YOU DON'T CROSS, and Gayle is taking a beating for it. When Kobe retired from basketball 4 years ago, why didn't Gayle King interview Kobe then? Why shade the man now that he's dead? That's a coward move. Gayle wanted Lisa to throw salt on Kobe's name for the sexual assault case that happened over a decade ago. Kobe's wife and children are going through a rough time right now, and the last thing she needs is Gayle trying to tarnish Kobe's legacy. Kobe has done a lot of good for his community, he was a good father & husband, respected by his teammates and coaching staff, etc., no one had anything bad to say about him.
What Gayle did was foul. I don't care how anyone tries to justify this, she was dead wrong. It's clear she has a motive based on the timing. She waited until Kobe died to interview Lisa Leslie about Kobe's death. Now, I'm reading that she was upset the network aired that interview snippet because it made her look bad, so she went on social media to explain herself. Rapper Snoop Dogg dragged her, 50 Cent called her insensitive, and I'm sure other celebrities are speaking out on behalf of Kobe's family. Personally, I would've interviewed Kobe's closest friends and loved ones AFTER they've had time to grieve. Now was not the time, and the criticism she's facing is proof.

Nothing To Prove

People are going to believe what they want anyway, so why waste time trying to plead your case? As long as you know the truth, that's what matters. It should never be your problem if people are too stupid to get the facts.

Psalms 37:4

This is one of my favorite Bible verses because it's simple: If I serve God, he will give me my heart's desire. Part of serving God is obeying whatever he tells me to do, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. I try to follow this verse because I refuse to miss what God had for me.
